On Easter Sunday 27th March, Cecile Kayirebwa will be on stage at Hotel des Mille Collines by Kempinski for the 3rd edition of INGANZO YA KAYIREBWA, an annual cultural gathering conceived, organised and promoted by CEKA I RWANDA - a not-for-profit cultural organization, whose objectives are: the safeguarding, preservation and transmission of the Rwandan culture through music, poetry and dance in the Rwandan language.

INGANZO YA KAYIREBWA’s 1st edition took place in 2014, in response to a constantly expressed demand from
a wide cross-generational group of Rwandese who have rarely had the opportunity
to see her perform live due to the artist’s base in Belgium. It was a dual
theme as it coincided with the 20 years commemoration of the Rwandan Genocide Against
the Tutsi along with 30 years of CK’s singing career. Cécile Kayirebwa has made
an essential contribution from Belgium by popularising Rwandan culture and
music to the wider world beyond Rwandan borders.
After an international music career of over 30 years and more than 10 years since her last offering, Kayirebwa made headlines this year with the release her 7th full studio album "Urukumbuzi". The occasion was marked by an exclusive intimate soft launch event held in Kigali's Chez Robert Restaurant.
CK has also been nominated for a 2016 KORA AWARD in
the category of Best Female Traditional Artist. Each year the KORA AWARDS award
the best musical talents from the African continent, Kayirebwa’s nomination
re-affirms her long lasting relevance in the world music industry.
